Most of Kenmore went up in one long building boom, late 1960s through to the mid-80s. Big brick homes, four bedrooms, double garage, a pool out the back, sitting on blocks you don’t get in the inner suburbs anymore. Half of them have been extended or done up at least once since. What we keep finding in Kenmore homes
The most common call we get out this way is a switchboard that’s tripping, or one that’s warm to the touch. Often it’s the original fuse board, ceramic rewireable fuses, no safety switches anywhere. That’s not just annoying. It’s a genuine safety problem. The fix is a modern board with RCD protection on every circuit, and you leave with a certificate of compliance. Usually it’s the first thing we sort before anything else.
Ducted aircon is the next big one. These older Kenmore floor plans are huge, formal lounge, separate dining, four or five bedrooms, and people want the whole house cooled, not one head unit in the living room.
